About LitersToKg.com

We help you go from volume (Liters) to mass (Kilograms). Our tools use checked density tables and show the result live as you type.

Why We Built This Tool

Every day, cooks, students, engineers and truck drivers ask the same thing: "How many kilograms is 5 liters of this liquid?"

Many people think that 1 Liter always equals 1 Kilogram. That is true for pure water at 4°C. It is wrong for most other liquids. Cooking oil is about 8% lighter than water. Honey is about 42% heavier. If you use 1:1 for every liquid, you can ruin a cake, load a truck wrong or get a bad lab result.

We built LitersToKg.com to make this easy to see. You do not just get a number. You watch the liquid rise in a lab cylinder. You move a slider to change the density. And you see a scale tip to show if the liquid is heavier or lighter than water.

Math You Can Check

Every result comes from one rule: Mass = Volume × Density. We show each step of the math. Nothing is hidden.

🔒

Private by Design

No accounts, no cookies and no saved data. All the math runs on your own device, in your browser.

⚡

Instant Results

There is no "submit" button and no page reload. The result, the liquid level and the scale move the moment you type.

📚

Easy to Learn From

We do not just give the answer. We also explain why the mass changes. And we show it in grams, US gallons, pounds (lbs) and ounces (oz).

Who Uses LitersToKg.com?

👨‍🍳 Chefs & Bakers
Turning liters of milk, oil or honey into kilos or grams for the kitchen scale.
🧪 Students & Chemists
Working out the mass of a liquid for class or the lab, and learning how density works.
🚚 Logistics & Fuel Handlers
Finding the weight of a tank, a fuel can or a diesel load before it ships.

Who Runs LitersToKg.com

LitersToKg.com is an independent site. It was founded by Hamza Mahmood, who owns it and pays for it. Our goal is free tools that show all of their math, not just a single number.

The site has no paid spots, no sponsored values and no affiliate links. We write and check every preset, formula and guide ourselves, led by Hamza Mahmood. Each result shows the full math, so anyone can check it by hand.

You can reach us at contact@literstokg.com or through the contact form.

How We Keep the Numbers Accurate

  • Exact units. 1 liter = 1,000 cm³. 1 kg = 1,000 g. 1 kg = 2.20462 lb. 1 kg = 35.274 oz. 1 L = 0.264172 US gallons.
  • Typical densities. Each preset is a typical value for that liquid at room temperature. Real samples vary with heat, fat, sugar, blend and purity. That is why you can set any density to three decimal places.
  • Open math. Each result shows the formula and the exact sum we used. There are no hidden rounding steps.
  • Fixes welcome. Does a preset differ from a trusted source, such as the CRC Handbook or NIST data? Send us the source and its temperature. We will check it and update it.
